Born Bad vs Gypsy Hotel in Brighton tomorrow
Fancy a day at the seaside followed by a night of bourbon soaked gypsy blues bop n stroll and facekickin cabaret...?

Me too!

Join me in Brighton for Born Bad vs Gypsy Hotel and bask in my radiating joy as I rock out on my big farty tenor sax with the awesome Urban Voodoo Machine.

Luci x

Brighton's infamous rockabilly-trash-n-roll night, Born Bad, joins with London's notorious bourbon soaked snake charming rock'n'roll cabaret, Gypsy Hotel, for a debauched night of live music, filth, fury and fire! Come celebrate the funeral of your good health!" And the line up...

- Miss Baby Bones, Brighton burlesque princess.

- The Woodsmen - Brighton's prodigal sons, return from the dark streets of east London, bringing their folk-rock'n'roll-gypsy-punk party home once more, all in a blizzard of speed and whiskey.

- Lady Ane Angel - Fire eating absinthe beauty from the fjords of Norway.

- The Urban Voodoo Machine - London's bourbon soaked gypsy blues bop and stroll ensemble, the UK's most exciting live spectacle, fresh from supporting the Pogues by personal invitation on their US tour. Miss them at your peril!

- Baron De Chainsaw & Missy Macabre - Chainsaw wielding, twisted romantic sideshow .

DJ's: Born Bad DJ's, Jon Slade, Jim Sonic, Duncan DeMorgan, playing rockabilly, garage, punk, trash. DJ Scratchy, Clash and Gogol Bordello tour DJ.

Plus more exotic and esoteric dystractions!...

12/10 quid entry, 8pm, 3-am, 4th July. Komedia, Gardner Street, Brighton. xxx

Lucifire Music Player Facebook: UVM and early FDD
Oh yeah, and I meant to mention that I've installed a music player on the Lucifire Facebook Page and uploaded a couple of tracks I recently recorded with The Urban Voodoo Machine playing the big shiny tenor (as someone recently said "I'm pleased you're getting on with the tenor, I always thought you'd be more into the the Big Jay McNeely than Kenny-puke-G")

Check out The Urban Voodoo Machine: www.theurbanvoodoomachine.com

There's also a VERY old recording of The Flaming Doo Dits doing "Do Right", was the 1st recording we ever did, many moons ago as part of a friend's AV course. We recorded it to dub over the actual footage of Jessica Rabbit, sound effects n all :)

Am working on recording some stuff, just keys and vox and will post them up as and when.

And there's one nasty, nasty duet in the pipeline. Rock n Roll baby!

Halloween 2008: The Circus is Coming to Town!

European Premiere!
The Fire Tusk Pain Proof Circus is in the process of putting together their first ever, full scale European tour for Oct/Nov 2008. We will be travelling through mainland Europe with our new 2008 show complete with cast, crew and kit: a post-apocalyptic, rock 'n' roll rollercoaster ride to Hell, featuring motorbikes, chainsaws, flaming whips and flying usherettes and starring Lucifire, The Tusk, Big Grey, Baawo the Chainsaw and Fancy Chance.

Circus going Cheap(er)!
This is an opportunity for promoters and theatres to spread the transportation and touring expenses across several events; making what could otherwise be a prohibitively costly show, affordable, without sacrificing ANY of the spectacle.

The Circus Needs You!
We would like to hear from promoters, theatres and rock 'n' roll venues interested in booking the show. We are also very keen to hear from agencies, production companies and producers interested in helping us to build the tour. In addition, there will also be openings for local crew and support acts as well as possible press opportunities and guest appearances.

Spread the Carnage!
So whether you're a venue owner, rigger, PR agent or contortionist, or anywhere in between, please get in touch if you would like to be involved. Similarly, we'd really appreciate any suggestions of potential collaborators. Our clowns will dance with joy if you pass this on to any interested parties, post on your blogs/groups, nail it to trees, write it on your face with crayon... just spread the word and soon the Fire Tusk Pain Proof Circus could be loose on your town. Tell your friends, you know they'll thank you.

Basic information:
Company: 5 cast, 2 crew
Show running time: 2 x 45 min acts
Min Staging: 6m x 5m stage
Rigging Point min 4m above stage.
Min 4m working height above stage.
Full spec and touring info available on request

Latitude Festival
Once again The Fire Tusk Pain Proof Circus will be performing at Latitude Festival. We will be joining our friends Gawkagogo as special guests in their Gawkagogo Freakshow on Friday Night in the Cabaret tent. Although on 2 of us will be performing as FTPPC, Fancy Chance will also be on the bill performing her solo burlesque terrorist work.

In addition to these delights, Lucifire will be performing her annual flesh hook "tree fairy" suspension from the cabaret tree on Saturday night and will also be performing her Marlene Dietrich Weimar Liebe show on Sunday night.

In between these late night highlights, there are of course the usual delights of Latitude: hidden stages in the woods, poetry, literature, great comedy, film, beautiful countryside and multi-coloured sheep (oh, and i think there;s some bands playing too).

let's see if the Tusk can manage not to get arrested this time!

Miss Behave's Variety Nighty
Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with smouldering anticipation, sparks of joy and roaring enthusiasm that I announce my participation in a forthcoming season of lavish entertainments at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. The event is artistically directed by my esteemed colleague, Miss Behave and produced in conjunction with the Roundhouse itself.

If variety is indeed the spice of life then prepare to get hot, hot, hot! Miss Behave's Variety Nighty sees Miss Behave performing nightly with a cast of her specially selected variety chums including Lyndall Merry, Marjo Nental, Kalki Henenberg, Frank Sanazi, Spy Monkey, Lucifire and Dusty Limits as well as surprise special guests.

I have the consummate pleasure closing the show each night, with an all new, bespoke fire show created just for this event. The costume is underway and is looking to be my most spectacular yet!

Show runs from 31 July to 24 August 2008
6 shows a week (that totals 24 chances to see the show!)
Tickets on sale now from the Roundhouse website

KABARETT - 'Neo-Weimar for the fabulous generation' (Time Out)
This month KABARETT goes Kinky, with a clutch of acts that will set your pulses racing.

LUCIFIRE - Queen of the Fire-Tusk Pain-Proof Circus, Lucifire is an undisputed superstar of the fetish scene. Famed throughout the globe for her fire-eating, angle-grinding, hanging-from-hooks-through-her-back-while-singing-showtunes exploits, she has a secret double life as a cabaret singer. Imagine a flame-tressed Marlene Dietrich with a mean streak and you'll have an idea.
